Warsteiner – Odd Future Edition

Warsteiner Odd Future Edition

This good looking Warsteiner Odd Future-Edition find it’s way to me via mail. The special edition of the label is dedicated to the US-band Odd Future and will accompany them on their US-tour (and only at the tour as you can’t find this edition in the regular stores). The label had it’s release at the Odd Future performance at the Colette Store in Paris one month ago. Here a a clean look at both sides of the label.

The Art of Storytelling – Graffiti, outsider art and unpopular culture

A few days ago I talked to Joe Crisafi, about his new project The Art of Storytelling. Joe Crisafi: “The Art of Storytelling is a book series about graffiti, outsider art and unpopular culture. Their first book sub-titled Under the Influence is the culmination of two and a half years of interview and story gathering from some of the most monumental names in the underground. Featuring interviews with Estevan Oriol, Ricky Powell, Zephyr, Bas Rutten, Eli Gesner and a ton of others. (…) Everyone told us not to print any books because print is supposedly dead, but the response has been really good. I think there is still a lot of people that still enjoy print.” Yes we love print, so please feel free to support this project and order the first book right now.

Wood Bonnet Antique No. 7 – Swiss vintage wood type

For everybody who is so crazy about everything vintage like me: Wood Bonnet Antique No. 7 is the new typeface of astype, the type foundry of Andreas Seidel.

Wood Bonnet Antique No. 7 is based on real vintage wood type blocks from Switzerland. The very distressed letters give a warm analogue vintage charm on printing. These kind of wood type letters were very common and often named by generic names like Roman, French or Antique followed by a catalog number. But these letters have some very quirky details hard to find else were.

The font offers up to four glyph variations of all the Latin base letters, figures and some additional letters. An OpenType glyph-rotator is programmed to emulate the randomness of old school printing on live typing. All dingbats of the specimen file are included in the font data too.” – astype
